What he ate. What did you eat?

While I was in Hawaii my husband, Christian, was in Brazil. He went to Corumbau, Bahia where we are planning to move to in 2 years when he's ready to do his field work for his Anthropology doctorate degree. He's interested in studying marine protected areas. What this means for me is that I will get to live in a beautiful place and eat lots of fish. And because he's such an awesome husband/best friend he took it upon himself to take pictures of things he ate.

I loved looking over his pictures and am curious to see what other people eat when they go on trips. If you want to send me any pictures of interesting things you've ate while on vacation shoot me an e-mail damarispalmer{at}gmail{dot}com with the picture(s) and I'll post it on the blog.

  1. I, too, am fascinated by the culture of different people, particularly as it relates to their cuisine. My dream trip is an around-the-world culinary adventure. I enjoy Brazilian food from the fresh Bahian fish dishes to over-abundant rodizios and even an occasional feijoada.

  5. Hey Damaris. This is Jill (jakes sister). Love your blog, but really feel the need to cook up something tasty even though I just had dinner:) I'm so glad your hubby is back safe and sound. I'm dying to visit that Mercado. The cheese alone.mmmmmmm. I don't have pictures of food from vacations, but I'm with you-food makes a vacation. Along with any memory of where I've been is what I ate. If only you could take pictures of the aromas and tastes.

  6. I seem to only want to visit places that have good food. I am totally dying to go to NY. And back to Japan. And finally go to Mexico. There should totally be a grant fund for this.
