On Saturday Silvia and Justin, our friends, were in charge of food. Justin is a pro-car camper and made us really good meals. My favorite dish was this easy banana recipe.
- Cut the bananas and stuff them with chocolate chips.
- Cover them with tin foil and place over fire to grill for about 5-10 minutes
- Remove the banana from heat and mix the banana pulp and the melted chocolate together.
- Eat! so good. Makes me want to to camping again.
ohh..this is so simple ......so common n still so uncommon way to eat this combo.....delicious.

ReplyDeleteI love these banana boats! I used to have them every summer as a kid when I went off to camp. So much fun and so delicious! YUMMY!
ReplyDeleteThanks for bringing back some great memories :)
thanks for the compliments. Goes to show that the simple and easy recipes are the best. I guess you can't go wrong with bananas and chocolate
ReplyDeleteMy mom makes those and I love them. I tried to do them last time and I didn't realize tin foil burns so easily. Yuck. What a waste of perfectly good CHOCOLATE!
ReplyDeleteThat looks so delicious!! And I love Big Sur -- it's the one of the most gorgeous spots on Earth!

Oh, I love Big Sur. It is so beautiful. And this banana chocolate looks great!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to make these, and I'm not going camping! Yummy.
ReplyDeleteoh yum, we live in our motorhome full time so I guess we camp full time!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! We roast foil covered apples over campfires and then peel off the skin when soft (carefully of course!) and then dip into butter, and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar. These chocolate banana's sound like they'd go well with my apples!
ReplyDeleteAndreaQ,
ReplyDeletethe apples sound delish. I love warm apples...yum
next time add mini marshmallows and it will be even better. You can also core an apple, add brown sugar and raisins and foil cook. Or scoop an orange out, leave the rind intact and fill with cake batter, foil cook. I camped alot as a kid so I have millions of these ideas. Hope you had fun camping.
ReplyDeleteWard Camp is this weekend! Woot Woot!! Very possibly, most definately making these! Thank you!!
ReplyDeleteI haven't eaten banana boats since Girl Scout camp! Thanks for making me all nostalgic! LOL!
