Solving Your Kitchen Problems One Giveaway at a Time

posted on: Friday, September 3, 2010

Hi friends.
I'm blogging (or barely blogging) from Brazil
and I've been really missing you
and missing my sweet California.
But happy to be here. So happy.
Even happier that I get to have such cool places to call home.

In honor of my sweet state and the country that is now so so so far away I am doing a very Americana giveaway from one of the coolest etsy shops around.

aheirloom makes handmade cutting boards that is shaped like your favorite state. Seriously. I mean seriously! How cool is that?! I want a California board but am loving Nevada for some reason.

What a beautifully shaped state. Maybe I'll go there someday.

Prepare your heart when you check out aheirloom. It will bring sweet memories of places you've lived or states you've visited. How cool would it be to have each and every state and a huge wall to display them all? My head is spinning with ideas.

But do check them out then come back here and leave a comment telling me which state you want by next Thursday September 9th for a chance to win a custom made cutting board. For extra entries you can follow me here, like me on facebook, tweet, and all that jazz. Leave an extra comment though so that I know. Winner will be announced next Friday and contacted via e-mail.

Have a lovely weekend.
I'm planning on cuddling my new nephew Renan and being with my mom and sisters as much as possible before I leave on Monday to the north of Brazil. I can't wait to show you what I've been eating. I would do it now but I need to rush to my grandma's house for lunch.

I love Brazil and the US and Brazil and the US and Brazil and...

ps. A big fat thank you to Ana from Live and Enliven for introducing me to aheirloom. She always finds the coolest things.

post-edit: Vicki you're lucky number 13. Horray for winning.

  6. I'm disappointed they don't have Maine or Indiana but I'd love a Michigan one. These are awesome.

  7. I grew up in Utah and it's taken me almost three decades to be proud to claim it as my favorite state. I didn't see UT in the shop, but if they start making them, I know some people who would buy them. And UT would probably be the easiest to make (after Colorado).

If not, I know a lovely Texan who would love the Texas board.

  11. I'd love an Illinois one, since that's where I grew up, but since they don't have it, California's pretty cool.

  19. lol...how could they possibly do hawaii? I would go for the california one though because that is my home state and its so appropriate with the cheese on it. I grew up going to wine tastings and grape pickings with my grandfather all up and down california each year. and of course with good wine comes great cheese and crakers!
