Daily Buzz Moms picked their favorite posts from Kitchen Corners and featured them today. Thank you Daily Buzz Moms, it was a great way to start my Friday.
Today I've been in an awfully good mood. We woke up to the the most stunning sunshine. It's hard to be in a bad mood when it's so sunny outside, everything just come alive more. Now we're ending the day with fried Mahi Mahi, a simple salad, and some rice and beans. Then Christian and I get to go on a date, I'm thinking we'll get some frozen yogurt today. Having my sister live with us makes date nights a total possibility. Yay for free babysitting!
Before I get too much into weekend mode I wanted to share,
some of my favorite finds from this week
// If you're in the Santa Cruz California area go to this food writing retreat. Last year I had a chance to go and it was pure delight. I'm sad I'm going to miss it.
// Green Kitchen Stories just released their new iPad app. I'm not sure how to describe it, few words could do justice to the beautiful things David and Luise create. All I can say is that I've been in love with the app and have already put it to good use. If you're into healthy, beautiful, vegetarian meals this app is for you.
// Oh, I'm a total sucker for cutting boards and I think that I have found the most perfect one. How functional is this?
// Speaking of functional check out this pot.
// I've never made roasted chickpeas before but I really want to try. Have you ever made them? Is there a recipe you like? I'm thinking of trying this one this weekend.
// I loved this Kirtsy slideshow. There was a time in my life where I used to make all sorts of hair masks from fruits. I kind of want to get into that again.
and in case you missed it here's what's been going on this week at Kitchen Corners.
// Why I love life-style bloggers.
// Picnic ideas for you and for me.
// A gift certificate giveaway to my favorite online stationary store. The giveaway is still open.
// And another giveaway, this time to The Pigeon Finds a Hot Dog DVD, also still time to enter.
// Remember how I went to D.C back in July to shoot a cooking video? Well you can go here to see more.
// And in case you're needing some sunshine in your day you can try my Tropical Smoothie recipe. It's really easy and the kids loved it. Success.
Have a lovely weekend.
I hear it's hot in Santa Cruz, California this weekend.
I'm so glad my friends back home will get a beautiful weekend to play outside.
I hope you have a beautiful weekend too.
