December Cook Off

posted on: Tuesday, December 7, 2010

I'm so excited to announce this month's cook off. October was fun, November was a blast, and I've been giddy about December's cook off. This month the theme is cookies and you have to find someone, a worthy soul, who will be gifted with a plate of your cookies. So not only are you baking delcious cookies you're also giving them away. 'Tis the season, right?!

This month's winner walks off with a copy of Krystina Castella's new cookbook Crazy About Cookies. I got a copy of this book last month to review and it's amazing. She says that there are 300 scrumptious recipes, and I believe her, but right now I'm busy reading the intro section called "cookies in the know", 50 pages of pure cookie knowledge. I'm seriously studying it like a text book. I have notes in the margin and I even busted out my college highlighters.

Here's a sneak peak of the book to get you motivated
and inspired.

Definitely check out Castella's website. There are so many wonderful ideas, like the snow globe cookie, or the ornament cookies, or the mid century gingerbread house. Get inspired, think of a cookie recipe you'd like to share and then think of someone you'd like to share your cookies with (mom, dad, neighbor, teacher, UPS delivery guy/gal, me)

You can start baking and drafting your post but please don't post until next Monday the 13th. I'll have a linky button next Monday so that you can link up your cook off post.

I can't wait to see what you come up with.

ps. If you're a new Kitchen Corner's reader, Hi! How are you? Are you feeling lost and have no idea what I'm talking about? Here's the cook off page that explains what this whole shenanigans is all about.

  2. This is the perfect month to make cookies. I only wish I could submit my pizzelles recipe, but the equipment I need is at my parents' home in NJ and I won't be back there for another two weeks. I've no doubt I'll come up with some other delicious things though!
